From another restricted nation this 13-year-old boy shared the following testimony:
“My life was like a lost sheep. I lost interest in my studies and was keeping company with bad kids in my school. I became careless. I started cheated my parents every day. In the morning I would get ready to attend school, but instead would meet my friends and start playing and watching movies during school hours. The management of school informed my parents about my absence which had continued for 3 weeks so according to the school rules, they dismissed me from school. My parents were very sad and worried about me. I was also broken in my heart when I saw my other friends going to school. One day my cousin came to see me. He took me to Sunday school. I heard the story of lost sheep first time in my life. The story was told from “The Prayer Covenant book”. I felt in my heart how Jesus loves each one of us and cares about us. Then I repeated this pray with other kids ” Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for loving me and making me one of your children. I felt even though we do bad things God still loves us. I went to my parents and asked them to forgive me. I promised them to regularly start my studies again. Thank you TPC for helping me to realize my sins and start again.
From Luke 15
In Luke 15 we find Jesus sharing the parable of the lost sheep. Verses 6 and 7 read, Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ 7 I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.
We love stories of transformation which can only happen by the power of God. We know heaven is rejoicing over this boy’s repentance.
How many of us know young people who have drifted from the Lord? It is painful to watch but don’t give up interceding for them by name. It may take weeks, it may take years but the prayers of the righteous avail much. Jesus is inclining his ear to you as you draw near to him.
Prayer
Let’s pray. Father, we know you are the good shepherd. You’ve given your life for each one of us. We lift up those children and young people who have gone astray. We ask for your divine intervention. We ask that they turn from their wicked ways and acknowledge you as Lord of their life. Change them any way you want. Fill them with your holy Spirit. In Jesus name, Amen.
